How SEIS helps your brokerage manage risk

SEIS is an independent inspection company providing LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and LEV examinations. For a broker, having a reliable and competent inspection partner behind your offering supports sound risk assessment and underwriting. Our reports are documented evidence that a client is meeting their legal duties, which helps insurers gauge the true level of risk in a business and can feed into policy terms, premiums and conditions.

Well maintained, regularly examined equipment represents a lower risk profile, which benefits the insurer and the insured alike. By catching defects, deterioration or non-compliance early, we help prevent the accidents, equipment failure and unplanned downtime that lead to costly claims. And in the event of an incident, our records show that reasonable steps were taken to keep equipment safe, which supports claim defence and reduces liability exposure.

Partnering with a competent inspection company adds genuine value to your service: clients reduce risk, stay compliant and work in safer environments, which means fewer claims and more durable relationships. Read more about how we work.

What this adds to your offering

  • Risk assessment and underwritingDocumented evidence of compliance helps insurers price and structure cover accurately.
  • Ongoing compliance, not reactionWritten schemes, thorough examinations and LEV test results show proactive safety management.
  • Claim defenceInspection records demonstrate that reasonable steps were taken, reducing liability exposure.
  • A lower risk profileRegularly examined plant means fewer incidents, fewer claims and more sustainable policies.
For service providers

Add compliance to your service, without the impartiality problem

The regulations require that a thorough examination is done by a competent person who is sufficiently independent and impartial. If you service or maintain the equipment, you cannot credibly examine your own work, the same engineer who fitted the part last week cannot sign it off this week. Bringing in an independent inspection company removes any question of impartiality a client might raise.

Service companies often work across many client sites and depend on their equipment to deliver contracts. Regular statutory examinations catch wear, damage and non-compliance early, cutting the risk of failure, unsafe conditions and the unexpected downtime that disrupts service delivery. Up-to-date records also strengthen your hand when tendering, since many clients now want proof of compliance before letting anyone on site.

And there is an upside for your business: offer compliance as part of your package, add your mark-up, and transfer none of the risk, because SEIS carries out the thorough examinations.

Broker and service-provider FAQ

Common questions from our partners

How could SEIS and our services work alongside each other?

Under the regulations a competent person must have the right experience and theoretical knowledge, and must also be objective and impartial. If you repair or maintain the equipment and hold a service contract with the client, SEIS can carry out the thorough examinations so that impartiality is never in question.

You request a quote from us, then offer our compliance services with your mark-up added. The client deals with one contact and one set of payment terms, you gain another revenue stream, and they stay compliant with no impartiality concern.

How could we add SEIS to our list of preferred suppliers?

Get in touch on 0330 043 8191 or fill in our enquiry form and we will reach out. We complete any documentation you require and send over our competencies, qualifications and insurances for you to verify.

From there you send any inspection requests, and we quote either for a one-off examination or for a full schedule of items across the year.

Can SEIS cover multiple sites nationwide?

Yes. SEIS has full nationwide coverage and already runs multiple multi-site contracts. Our team of engineer surveyors manages the compliance and makes sure your customers’ inspections are on time, every time.

What services do SEIS offer?

We carry out thorough examinations across four statutory regimes: LOLER for lifting equipment, PUWER for work equipment, PSSR for pressure systems, and LEV testing under COSHH for extraction. Reports are created digitally and can be sent by PDF the same day as the examination.

You also get our client portal, with due dates and visual indicators for any defective equipment. The full equipment lists for each regime are shown in the section above.

How do we get in contact?

Call us on 0330 043 8191 or fill in the enquiry form on our contact page and we will get straight back to you.
