Who we are

Independent inspection, with nothing to sell you but the truth

Statutory Equipment Inspection Solutions exists to do one thing properly: examine your equipment as a genuinely independent competent person. We sit apart from the insurers and the equipment suppliers, so our report has no quiet incentive to find more work, recommend a particular brand, or wave something through. When we sign off a piece of plant, that judgement answers only to the regulation and to the people who work near it.

That independence is the whole point of the law. LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and COSHH all turn on the verdict of a competent person acting impartially. Our surveyors come from the inspection floor, not a sales desk, and they treat your Report of Thorough Examination as the legal record it is, clear on what passed, what failed, and what you need to do before anyone gets hurt or an HSE inspector asks to see the paperwork.

Independent competent person, accountable to you

Multi-disciplined by design

One surveyor, one visit, every statutory item on site, less downtime for you.

What we cover

Four regulations, one team that knows them properly

These are genuinely different laws with different duties, intervals and language. We work across all four, which is why so many sites have us handle the lot in a single visit rather than juggling separate inspectors.

Why choose SEIS

The practical reasons clients stay with us

Compliance is the floor, not the selling point. What keeps sites with us is how little friction we add: one visit, fast reports, and a schedule that means you never get caught out by a missed examination.

Genuinely independent

Impartial competent persons, separate from insurers and equipment suppliers. Our advice serves your compliance and safety, nothing else.

Never miss an examination

We manage your inspection schedule so the next due date is our problem to track, not yours.

Deep regulatory knowledge

A wealth of experience across current regulations and standards, so defects are categorised honestly and reports stand up to audit.

Competitive pricing

Excellent service without extortionate payment terms. Clear value, fair terms, no surprises on the invoice.

Minimal disruption

Multi-disciplined surveyors examine all statutory equipment in one site visit, keeping downtime to a minimum.

Same-day reporting

Reports can be produced the same day, available before we leave site if you need them, through our 24-hour online portal.

Common questions

About SEIS

The things site managers and duty holders usually want to know before they pick up the phone.

Who are SEIS and what do you do?
Statutory Equipment Inspection Solutions (SEIS) is an independent engineering inspection company. We act as the competent person for statutory examinations under LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and COSHH (LEV), so businesses can prove their equipment is safe and legally compliant.
What does “independent” actually mean here?
We operate separately from insurance companies and equipment suppliers. Our examination has no commercial link to selling you insurance, parts or maintenance, so the report reflects the condition of the equipment and the regulation, and nothing else.
Which areas do you cover?
Our surveyors work across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Tyne & Wear and County Durham, and through the ESiNet network we provide inspection coverage across the UK, with a surveyor local to each of your sites.
Can you inspect everything in one visit?
Usually, yes. Because our surveyors are multi-disciplined, we can examine your lifting equipment, work equipment, pressure systems and LEV on the same site visit, which cuts downtime and the hassle of coordinating several inspectors.
How quickly will I get my report?
Reports can be produced the same day, and made available before we leave site if you need them. Everything is stored in our online client portal, so your documentation is accessible 24 hours a day for audits and HSE requests.
Are you accredited?
We are members of the Engineer Surveyor Inspection Network (ESiNet) and the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), and we are in the process of joining IPAF. Our work is carried out by competent persons in line with HSE expectations for each regime.
